About Graham

With a background in publishing and graphic design, I designed my first web page in 1995, and my first site for clients in 1996. For me, designing a website is an opportunity to create something aesthetically pleasing that also works on a practical level, bringing clients new business and new contacts, often from all over the world.
Since then I have created many websites for clients, from one-page microsites to online shops with full ecommerce facilities, and complete social network sites such as www.interconnections.co.uk.
Since the mid 2000s I have offered one-to-one tuition in web design, and in February 2011 started running short courses. I currently offer three courses, in web design, newsletter design and SEO and website usability.
I was born in Cheltenham and have my own home in Leckhampton. I publish Connections magazine, the website for which was relaunched in October 2008 as a complete holistic social network for Connections readers.
I am interested in all aspects of living holistically, and teach astrology as well as see clients for astrological consultations. In 1994 I gained a practitioner certificate in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the learnings from which still powerfully inform my work and life. In 1997 I wrote 'Astrology, a Beginner's Guide', published by Hodder Headline, and later co-authored, with James Hunt, a series of 16 The Career Fulfillment Guides.
My personal website is at www.grahamboston.com.

Why choose me?
My philosophy is to empower you rather than making you dependent on me, by providing you wherever possible with free or low-cost tools, together with the know-how to use them effectively.
Most web design courses involve having to learn coding or complicated (and expensive) software such as Dreamweaver. My web design (and newsletter design) courses are designed to be as intuitive, hands-on and accessible as possible, with a minimum of jargon, time for personal guidance and plenty of group interaction, which helps participants work more effectively. The cost is highly competitive, reflecting the fact that they are aimed at small businesses and individuals rather than the corporate market.
My SEO and website usability course is unique in that it combines how to optimise your website for Google, combined with how to tweak your site to increase your sales (or whatever your website's goals are). Most SEO courses do not cover usability, which includes things like navigation, layout, graphics, photographs and language.
With my one-to-one tuition I work at your pace, with tuition being tailored to your needs. Since I work from home in Leckhampton, Cheltenham (Gloucestershire), my overheads are low. I am flexible in the way that I work, and clients have told me they appreciate that I have understood they may be unfamiliar with the technical side of computers and graphics, and my guidance in turning their ideas or wishes into reality.
My aim is to help you market your services online in a way that fits in with your individual and business goals.
